Dr. Laura Hamilton Brown is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication Studies. Dr. Brown is a scholar of intercultural communication with research interests in bi-racial identity construction, cultural differences, and family communication. Prior to West Chester University, she held a faculty position at Buffalo State College where she taught courses such as Communication Theory, Minority Voices in the Media, and Public Speaking. She also taught for the Academic Skills Center teaching courses such as basic writing and compositional writing. In addition, Dr. Brown taught English for four years in Taiwan where she learned to speak Mandarin Chinese and was a news reporter for two years for The Allied News (Grove City, PA). She holds a B.A. from Grove City College (PA), along with a M.A. and Ph.D. from Ohio University.
