- Professional Development Series
- The Professional Development Series of Lambda Pi Eta is designed to enhance members' knowledge of the field of communication studies. Professional Development activities are presented exclusively to LPH members and generally supplement what is learned in a classroom setting. For example, in the fall of 2008, West Chester University's Dr. Kanan Sawyer spoke to LPH's members about the do's an do not's of resume writing. Also, Jeannie McGinn, President of McGinn Marketing Works, spoke about unconventional careers in communication studies.
- Peer Mentoring Program
- The Peer Mentoring Program was created in the fall of 2008. It's purpose is to guide prospective or early communication studies students on a track to success. The program strategically matches a student "mentee" with one of LPH's peer mentors to help answer questions about communications and college life. By interacting and speaking with an LPH peer mentor, students are given an edge within the department. Peer mentors undergo training sessions that help them be effective in reaching out to the mentees.
- YWCA Partnership
- November 19th, 2008 marked the beginning of LPH's partnership with the YWCA of Chester County, PA when YWCA board member Fran Pierce spoke to the executive board of LPE. Keeping in mind the YWCA's goal of eliminating racism and enpowering women, LPH WCU chapter plans to both help and be helped by the organization. LPH members will volunteer their time to YWCA with the ability to focus this effort on communications. YWCA will help LPH grow by offering its expertise on goal setting, membership development, and leadership.
- Service Committee
- The service committee is committed to empowering LPH members to be actively involved in volunteer efforts on campus, in the community, and elsewhere. The service committee chair organizes different service events or projects each month.
- Social Committee
- The social committee was formed in fall of 2008 in response to a growing need for friendly interaction among members of the organization. The social committee chair is responsible for planning and running social events that focus less on professional development and more on having fun.
- Public Relations Committee
- The public relations committee chair develops programs and activities that will promote the chapter in the department, on campus, in the community, and within the National Organization structure. The committee creates promotional materials to disseminate through the media and social networking.
- Fundraising Committee
- The fundraising committee's purpose is to plan, implement, and evaluate fundraising efforts. Its main goal is to raise funds that are to be used for the programs and activities of the LPH WCU chapter.
- Induction Ceremony
- The spring induction ceremony is where members are formally recognized for their membership within Lambda Pi Eta Communication Studies Honor Society at West Chester University.
- Communication Showcase
- The fall communication showcase is presented by Lambda Pi Eta to all WCU students to increase their knowledge of the on-campus opportunities in the communication studies field. The fall 2008 showcase featured the following organizations: WCUR, The Serpentine, WCU-TV, Lambda Pi Eta, Students in Communications, and The Quad.
